Kelli Ballengee, a local balloon pilot and one of the organizers of the 37th annual St. Patrick’s Day Balloon Rallye, said despite the bad weather, they wound up being able to have a good time this weekend. While Friday’s flights and the majority of Saturday’s were canceled, Ballengee said they had a lot of great flights Sunday, and it turned out to be a great weekend. Proceeds from the event will be donated to a local charity.
Felina Martinez was born and raised in Valencia County. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2021. During her time at UNM, she studied interdisciplinary film, digital media and journalism. She covers the village of Los Lunas, Los Lunas Schools, the School of Dreams Academy and the town of Peralta.
