Duke City Raceway will be having a special pre-Fourth of July show when the Arizona Sprint Car Series comes to town on Wednesday, July 3. The Hobby and Street Stocks will also be running that night at the special mid-week races. DCR will also have it’s own version of a fireworks show with a Fiery Car Explosion by the Car Killer Stunt Team.

After last weekend’s Hobby Stock action, Ronnie Bell is in the lead with 446 points after finishing sixth in the main event. Ronnie Leatham Jr., who finished second, is still sitting in second place in the points standings. Jeff Whyman and Phil York are in the third and fourth spots, respectively. All are from Los Lunas.

In the Modified division, Los Lunas’ Richard Johnson is still sitting atop the standings. Johnson won the heat race, but slipped back to the No. 12 spot in the main event. Bobby Bachechi, is still hanging on in the points race. He is currently sixth overall in the standings.

Leading the Street Stock standings is Bosque Farms’ Jay Pape. Belen’s Jim Willis is in third place. Rounding out the top four is Thomas Winters of Los Lunas.

Robert Schorr of Rio Rancho is in the points lead in the Late Model division. The next three positions are occupied by Belen drivers. Willis, who also drives a Late Model, is second, followed by another Belen resident, Ronnie Frazier Jr. In fourth place in the standings is Belen’s Squeaky Mendoza.
