Los Lunas

In this part of the country, with all the wide-open spaces available, the beautiful weather — and the reliance on agriculture as a means of survival in many cases — ATV riding is a way of life.

Besides ATVs, let’s not leave out the dirt bikes, watercraft and the weekend road-bike enthusiasts.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or your bike or ATV is your livelihood on the farm, Adventure Motorsports in Los Lunas will leave you drooling.

Adventure Motorsports deals in ATV, watercraft and motorcycle repairs, service, and, coming soon sales. The shop is still waiting to receive its line of motorcycles and ATVs, but its garage is open and ready for business.

Brian Lowery takes care of the duties in the shop. Lowery has been working in the area at different motorcycle and ATV shops for the past seven years. Lowery has been certified to work on Honda, Suzuki, Polaris, Kawasaki and Indian – to name a few – for about four years.

“The service department is very important for the shop because there aren’t many places that can do this work,” said owner, Bill Lowery, Brian’s father.

On top of his machining duties, Brian Lowery also races motorcross all over the state and has a table full of trophies at the shop to show for it.

“After I had been working in this industry for about four or five years, I learned enough to know that this was something I could do,” the younger Lowery said.

Now he’s working on bringing the experience he gained working in Albuquerque for the past seven years to his own business, with the help of Adam Greenwood.

Greenwood and Lowery have been friends for years and used to work together at Tools and Toys before it went out of business. Thanks to their previous experience in Valencia County, business has been soaring since they opened on May 8.

Greenwood takes care of the business in the front, including ordering parts, and, when the shop gets its line of bikes and ATVs, Greenwood will add sales to his list of duties.

Adventure Motorsports’ inventory includes a great deal of Fox apparel and accessories.

“We can get anything that Fox makes here,” Greenwood boasted.

Adventure Motorsports deals in both OEM parts and after-market parts and can order just about any part.

On top of its dealership and repair services, Adventure Motorsports also is a member of the New Mexico Desert Racing Club, a group that travels throughout New Mexico to different long desert runs.
