The St. Patrick’s Day Balloon Rallye went off without a hitch. It was a beautiful day, the people were wonderful, the planning was superb, and everyone should be glad that we have such a great event here in our hometown.

Putting on such a tremendous undertaking is no easy task. We applaud each and every person who took part, from the Valencia Flying and Retrieval Society members who planned the whole thing to the chase crews and balloonists.

We’re lucky to live in a part of the country which has beautiful weather and the sort of deep blue sky that beckons for you to come up and float a spell.

Los Lunas stands on the verge of becoming extremely well known for being a center of classic automobiles, as well as home of balloons.

With Route 66 cruising events and the big annual car show put on by the Los Lunas-Bosque Farms Chamber of Commerce, it is becoming known as a place that appreciates a beautifully restored Model A Ford as well as a hot rod, custom or lead sled. Come some summer afternoon, you may see an entire army of classic cars going from one Sonic to another.

This is the sort of excellent entertainment we need here, things that are fun for entire families.

We applaud the society and the chamber for their hard work and for their success in turning the spotlight on Valencia County.
