This year’s Bosque Farms Public Library summer reading program theme is “Tails and Tales,” and focuses on animals.

Sign ups begin on Tuesday, June 1, and is for all ages. Each person who signs up will receive a game board with reading and fun activities to complete.

Children will receive free grab-and-go crafts each week and a prize for completing their game board activities.

Teens and adults will receive an entry card each week for prize drawings. The drawings will take place on Friday, July 16.

All programs will be presented in the park behind the library, 1455 W. Bosque Loop, so bring your own chair and cool drinks.

All ages are welcome to come and relax in the park for all of the fantastic events. Every program will be family friendly.

The summer reading program kickoff is at 11 a.m., Monday, June 14, with ukulele songs and animal tales with Miss Lin, an experienced children’s storyteller, librarian and musician with lots of humor and talent to share.

 

Summer Reading Program Schedule

(All events begin at 11 a.m.)

•Tuesday, June 15: Story time with Toni-Lynn. Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and movement.

•Tuesday, June 22: Music Magic with the Recycle Man. He performs unique and highly entertaining music with recycled items. Everyone will learn to play musical spoons and will take a pair home.

•Thursday, June 24: Music and Movement with Toni-Lynn, who is experienced in children’s library services and dance/ movement. Come enjoy rhythmic ribbons and musical instruments.

•Tuesday, June 29: Story time with Toni-Lynn. Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and movement.

•Thursday, July 1: Music by Trebor, a professional musician playing an assortment of family-friendly music for all ages. He has played his music around the world, and appeared on “Longmire,” “Breaking Bad,” “Woman Walks Ahead” and other movies.

•Tuesday, July 6: Story time with Toni-Lynn. Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and movement.

•Thursday, July 8: Odette, the beautiful alpaca, will visit from the farm. Come learn about alpacas and hear a story about them.

•Tuesday, July 13: Story time with Toni-Lynn. Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and movement.

•Thursday, July 15: Greg Cole from AK Karate will delight you with a combination of old-school training and innovations in self-defense, while adding in some elements of sport and meditation.
