Carlos Santana Duran

Carlos Santana Duran, 41, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 29, 2022.

He was a 2000 Belen High School graduate.

Whether you knew him as Carlos, Carlitos, Carluche, son, brother, nephew, uncle or friend, we will always remember his hardworking ethics, his practical jokes, his kind, caring and loving personality. Mostly he will be remembered for his charming smile and his unforgettable laughter. He loved to make people laugh.

He would give you the shirt off his back or the shoes of his feet. We know this because we saw him do this on several occasions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his father, Paul (Dina) Duran; mother, Evelyn Do Black; daughter, Kayliegh Moya; granddaughter, Marina Moya; brother, Patrick (Inez) Duran; sisters, Crystal (Jose) Gonzales and Ava Duran; grandmother, Onessia Nick Bahr; nieces and nephews, Ashley Do Black, Victoria, Rodrigo, Adriana and Ignacio Gonzales, and Brandon and Jeremiah Duran; great-niece, Amaia Gonzales; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cipriano and Triny Duran; uncles, Jerry (Anita) (Marvine) Duran, Gilfred Duran and Carlos Casillas; cousins, Steven and Paul Jaramillo, Robert (Robbie) Garcia, Jerry (JJ) Duran and Ben Milton Sr.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the many families and friends for the tremendous support, prayers, food, cards and phone calls. We appreciate you all beyond words. It is great to see what an amazing impact Carlos had on so many people. May God Bless you all.
