Carroll “Stretch” Leroy Taylor

Carroll “Stretch” Leroy Taylor, 71, of Bosque Farms, passed away peacefully after a brief 2 1/2 month battle with cancer Saturday morning, July 2, in the comfort of his own home with his wife, Pearl, at his side.

Stretch was a devoted family man whose faith was stronger than any other.

He loved to learn and was a life-long student, earning his Bachelor’s degree when he was just 71 years young.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lila Taylor; and great-grandson, John Edward McKinley.

Stretch is survived by his sweetie of 47 years, Pearl Taylor, whom he met in England while serving in the U.S. Air Force; son, Laurence and Carrie Taylor; daughters, Zena Belarde and Lenore and Cody Fastnacht; and son, Yancy and Alice Taylor; as well as 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by siblings, Dale and Ann Taylor, Marilyn Davis, and Marsha and Jerry Urioste, along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, with a viewing from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Los Lunas. Stretch will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 25.
