Clyde Gensen

Clyde Gensen, born Nov. 16, 1934, in Hollis, Okla., passed away at age 88 with his family at his side on  Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, in Los Lunas.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Jack W. and Minnie Gensen; his son, Keith Gensen; two sisters, Ima Jean Filippo and Rose Large; and brother, James “Bud” Gensen.

He is survived by his children, Janice Martin, Greg Gensen and wife, Valerie Gensen, and Annette Smith and husband, Kevin Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his loving brother, Jack L. Gensen; and also many nieces, nephews and friends.

Clyde was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Belen for 57 years. He retired from ACF and GE in 1991, where he was named “Cowboy.”

Throughout Clyde’s life, he wore many hats. He worked with his dad and brother building homes and laying blocks, and making jewelry and leather work. His love of playing guitar led to many years of playing in different bands. His love and support for his kids and grandkids lead to many years of rodeo life.

He enjoyed and entered many quick draw and shooting contests. He had a great love for western movies that were always playing on the boob tube in his house.

Clyde was a friend to many and would help anyone in need. But his greatest love was his beloved family.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at FRENCH – University. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE, in Albuquerque. Friends may visit from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at FRENCH – University.
