1941-2023

Danny Max Thompson, age 82, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Danny was born in Arnett, Okla., on Saturday, Feb. 1, 1941. He grew up in Clovis, N.M., and later Belen.

He married his first wife, Adele Marie Dykers, in July 1960, and has three kids from this union. He married his second wife, Dovie Charlene Allen, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1980.

Danny was a kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He kept himself busy for many years as a residential property manager after retiring from the real estate industry.

Danny was active in the Christian Fellowship Church of Los Lunas until his health failed him. Danny liked to be outside under the sun, usually without a shirt and he was perpetually tan. He enjoyed repairing things and, when he wasn’t doing upkeep on his rental units, he spent a lot of time working in the yard and garden, restoring old cars and doing home improvement projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lloyd Thompson and Anna Irene Thompson; his second wife, Dovie Charlene Thompson; and grandson, Nicholas Ryan Thompson.

He is survived by siblings, Robert Lloyd Thompson and Joyce Ann Edmunds and their families; children, Martin Edward Thompson, Robert Charles Thompson and wife, Jimmie Gallegos Thompson, and Stephanie Marie Rickerman and husband, Brandon Rickerman; grandchildren, Jesse Thompson and wife, Krystal, Sarah Chavez Gallegos, Danny Thompson, David Thompson and wife, Shannon, Madison Rickerman and Chloe Rickerman; and great-grandchildren, Tyla, Hunter, Jayce and Roise.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at FRENCH- Lomas, and was  interred at Terrace Groves Cemetery in Belen.
