Dean J. Sanchez, 54, passed away on Feb. 27, 2023.

Dean was born and raised in Belen on Feb. 28, 1969, and lived out most of his adult life in Houston, Texas.

Dean worked as a computer engineer for more than 25 years, where he was highly respected by his colleagues for his expertise and dedication. He had a passion for technology and was always eager to learn and innovate.

Dean was a key member of “The Met” church in Houston, Texas, where he actively participated and lead various church events. He lived a life of purpose and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Dean was a man of strong Christian faith and loved God as much as his own family.

He cherished his time spent with his family and friends. When he wasn’t with his family, he would enjoy going out with friends to boot scoot, boogie or attend a nice ride on his Harley!

Dean is survived by his two sons, Nathan and Gabriel Sanchez; his daughter, Desiree Luera; and grandsons, Sammy and Kai Luera. He is also survived by his parents, Sisto and Frances Sanchez; and his sister, Francine Pena.

Dean will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for God and family, and his passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dean’s heart was always attached to both New Mexico and Texas, so he wanted his life to be celebrated in both places.

Services will be held on Monday, March 20, at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley in Belen. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
