Dianne Sue Baca

1953-2022

Dianne Sue Baca

Dianne Sue Baca, age 68, a resident of Belen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 6, 2022.

She was born to Harold and Wilma Dillow on Sept. 24, 1953, in Albuquerque. Dianne grew up in Belen with her parents and four siblings. She met her high school sweetheart, Patrick “Pat” Baca (who thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world), and got married on June 25, 1971. They chose to make their home in Belen, where they were close to family.

In 1972, Pat and Dianne welcomed their first daughter, Heather. In 1976, their second daughter, Amy, was born. From then on, she continued to build the life she loved.

Dianne was well known for sewing clothes, cooking the most delicious meals and her love for baking … lots of baking! She retired in 2005, after 25 years of dedicated service, from the state of New Mexico as the manager of the Motor Vehicle Department. Thereafter, she enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, painting, crossword puzzles, making her miniature Christmas trees and caring for her grandchildren.

The grandchildren will miss the love that their “mamas” showered them with. Dianne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a phenomenal daughter-in-law to Filomena Baca. She loved her family and grandchildren so much and was always so proud of them.  Dianne will be missed tremendously!

She is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Patrick Baca; daughters, Heather Gonzales and Amy (Chris Montoya); son-in-law, Phillip Gonzales; grandchildren, Emma and Phillip Gonzales, Joshua and Jenna Montoya, and Kasi; sister, Anita West (Herman); and brother, Buddy Dillow, who both provided so much love and assistance during her illness; sister, Joline Ortega; brother, Jeff Dillow; very special mother-in-law, Filomena Baca; she is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will take place at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, June 16, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with a Rosary to begin at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with the Interment to follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Gonzales, Phillip Gonzales (Phip), Chris Montoya, Joshua Montoya, Buddy Dillow, Robert Padilla, and honorary pallbearer, Brandon Smith.

A special thanks to Geraldine Gabaldon, Norma and all the staff at Good Life for the loving care of Dianne.
