Family Fun Fest set on

Saturday in Los Lunas

The 11th Annual Family Fun Fest will be held in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, with a special march that starts and ends at Daniel Fernandez Park.

The event is sponsored by the Valencia County Protective Services, the Village of Los Lunas Parks and Recreation and the Valencia County MDT.

The entertainment begins with the march from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; pledge and changing of the colors at 10 a.m.; a performance by Regina’s Dance Studio, 10:15; auction, 10:45 a.m.; “Bust a Move,” 11 a.m.; auction, 11:30 a.m.; Boardwalk Gymnastics (in the gym) 11:30 a.m.; Tae Kwan Do, 11:45 a.m.; auction, 12:15 p.m.; Razzle Dazzle Dancers, 12:30 p.m.; auction, 1 p.m.; Woo Lee Martial Arts, 1:15 p.m.; auction, 1:45 p.m.; Renee Antoinette’s School of Dance, 2:15 p.m.; auction, 2:45 p.m.

Art fair held at LLHS

The Los Lunas High School Art Fair will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29, in the school auditorium. All kinds of art from the four different art classes, such as sculpture, photography, painting and graphic arts, will be on display.

Relay For Life to be run

The Relay For Life in Valencia County is just around the corner. Register your team by calling the American Cancer Society at 260-2105. This Celebration of Life brings the Valencia County community together in a unified effort to fight cancer.

Participants camp out at the event site, and, when they are not taking their turns walking or running, they take part in fun activities and enjoy local entertainment. Former and current cancer patients, their families, businesses, civic organizations and the public are invited to take part in this exciting team event.

Relay For Life will be from 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19, until noon on Saturday, July 20, at Belen High School.

Belen School Board meets

The Belen Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Eastside School conference room. A closed executive session will be held through 6:30 p.m. after which the open meeting will begin. On the agenda are personnel recommendations.
