Beverly Dominguez-Gon-zales has announced that she will seek the Democratic nomination for county assessor.

She has served as assessor since 1999 and has been employed by Valencia County since 1980. She is a member of the New Mexico Association of Assessing Officers where she has served as vice chair.

She currently sits on the board of directors for the New Mexico Association of Counties.

Gonzales holds an Appraiser III certification and is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers. And she sits on several committees for the New Mexico Association of Assessing Officers.

Gonzales said she pledges to keep fair and equitable values throughout Valencia County as the county continues to grow, and she will maintain an efficient and professional office for the citizens of Valencia County.

A lifelong resident of Valencia County, Gonzales was born and raised in Tomé. Her mother was the late Margaret (Maggie) Romero Dominguez and her father is Ray Dominguez.

Gonzales graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1979. She lives in Tomé with her 11-year-old son, Philip Gonzales Jr.
