The Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus — several members of which are from Valencia County — brought home high honors from a regional quartet competition.

Five of the twenty-four competing quartets include members from the Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus. Of them, Portfolio won a second place medal, and SW Edition won a fourth place medal and received the Most Improved Quartet Award. Quatro! took seventh place. Eclectic and Nice Shoes Too also competed.

Several members are from Valencia County, including Billie Dahl and Janice Leach, both of Los Lunas; JoNelle Jordan of Rio Communities, Lynn Taylor of Peralta and Lois Volchansky.

In addition, Darcie Newall, a member of the world-champion quartet Fanatix, was raised in Peralta and sang with the Enchanted Mesa Choir. Newall now lives in southern California.

The Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus numbers more than 100 women who share a love of music and singing in four-part harmony. The Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus invites women who love to sing to join them.

The chorus holds open weekly rehearsals every Monday, 7 p.m. at Temple Lodge No. 6, 3801 Osuna Road NE in Albuquerque. For audition and membership information, contact Sue at 292-1303.
