Jay Torrez Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: May 16)

The Jay Torrez Memorial Scholarship is in honor of Jay Torrez, who grew up in Tomé. He pursued a career as a Hollywood stuntman, and worked on feature films, TV shows, music videos and video games as well as stunt coordinating a few gigs of his own. He completed a master’s degree in human performance and sport.

This scholarship is to honor the memory of Jay Torrez and support students interested in the film industry.

Applicants must be a graduating senior from Valencia High School, Belen High School, Los Lunas High School or School of Dreams Academy pursuing a degree with a major in the film industry.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Provide an essay (no more than one page) describing why you are interested in film as well as educational and career goals. Applications are available at the schools and at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts.
