Local history lecture series

The University of New Mexico-Valencia campus and the Valencia County Historical Society are presenting a series of local history lectures.

  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7: “Lola Armijo and the First Sexual Discrimination Case in New Mexico History,” Cynthia Shetter
  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5: “Three of the Least Likely Heroes in Valencia County History,” Richard Melzer
  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2: “The Geologic History of Valencia County,” Paul Parmentier

The presentations will be held at the UNM-Valencia Workforce Training Center, 1020 Huning Ranch Loop East, Los Lunas. There is no fee or registration required.
