Los Lunas
Steven and Bernice Gonzales celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on June 8 with more than 150 relatives and friends at a lunch buffet at the Country Inn in Los Lunas.
Steven, who was born and raised in Los Lunas, graduated from Los Lunas High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Albuquer-que and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. He is a clinical social worker who recently retired from the State Department of Health.
His wife, the former Bernice Connelly of Peralta, graduated from Los Lunas High School and attended New Mexico Highlands University and the University of New Mexico. She has been employed by the Los Lunas Public Schools for 25 years.
The couple have three children, Lisa and her husband, John Campbell, of Denver, Colo., Dante of Peralta and Bernie of the family home. They have two grandchildren, Lisa Gonzales of Los Lunas and Joel Marquez Gonzales of Moreno Valley, Calif.
Their daughter, Lisa Camp-bell, along with other family members, planned the anniversary party. Steve’s brother, John Gonzales, provided the music.
