JoAnn Apachito Sanchez

JoAnn was born on Nov. 22, 1966, and was called home on July 17, 2022.

She is a life-long resident of Valencia County. She attended Los Lunas High School and graduated in 1987.

JoAnn joins her parents, Benny and Velma Apachito; and other cherished loved ones in Heaven.

JoAnn has three beautiful children with Joseph Sanchez. She is survived by her children, Julisa Sanchez, Joseph (J.W.) Sanchez and Jolynn Sanchez; two granddaughters, Abilene Sanchez-Sierra and Elena Sanchez; sisters, Judy Apachito and Julie Apachito; brothers, Bobby Apachito, BJ Chavez, Louis Apachito and Jonathan Apachito; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was very passionate about her garden and cooking. She loved to feed her guest and family. She loved to have large family celebrations and gatherings.

Her favorite animal was a horse named C-Jay. Her cats kept her company and entertained her. As a young girl, she became a manager at Sonic, with many friends from school.

JoAnn did her best to support her family when her children were small. She was in the medical field most of her adult life. She was a great mom to her children when they were young. She was loved by many people.

She was not shy and very outspoken. JoAnn loved to play tricks on her brothers and sisters. She was a typical daddy’s girl. Everyone she knew loved her.

JoAnn will be missed, and her family will continue to carry on her legacy of teachings, her cooking and baking skills. Her random recipes of many different dishes.

JoAnn was loved by many family and friends. JoAnn will be missed.
