Joseph Vigil

Joseph Vigil, age 70, a resident of Belen, passed away on May 9, 2023.

Services will take place on Friday, June 2, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a visitation at 9 a.m., and a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., and interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

Joseph is survived by his loving children, Jose and Joelle; grandchildren, Julius, Anna and Brooke; father, Joe (Dorothy); brothers, Phillip (Kathy), Alvin and Daniel; and sister, Ana Garcia (Salo).

Joseph is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Blair; mother, Eloisa Sanchez Vigil; paternal grandparents, Felipe and Ana Vigil; maternal grandparents, Seferino and Manulita Sanchez; brother, Virgil; and sister, Myra.

He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Joseph was a kind, loving person, who was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand. He always had a smile on his face, laughing and joking around.

Joseph gave himself many nicknames, like “Casino Joe” and “Joedaddy,” but the one he was most known for was “Mechanic Joe.” He lived life to the fullest and had many friends. Joseph will be greatly missed.
