Josie C. Peralta

1941-2022

Josie Peralta, age 81, a resident of Belen, was the daughter of Elias and Felipa Chavira.

She was a devoted sister to many loving brothers and sisters. Josie loved all her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a proud mother to her children, Leroy, Michael and Carol, who blessed her with five grandchildren, who made her a great grandma.

Josie loved unconditionally, would help anyone and was kind to strangers. Josie was strong, honest and joyful. She adored her family and loved her friends and neighbors.

She loved adding color to her garden every summer. Josie painted and repainted her santos and her wishing well. Her happy art reflected her happy heart.

Josie’s love of the earth made her a recycler. She was the recycle queen of our familia. Never did a plastic bottle escape her.

Josie’s faith was an example to all. Knowing her was a blessing. Josie’s laughter was fun. She will be dearly missed and was loved. “I’ll hold you in my heart until I hold you in heaven.”

Services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 26, followed by the interment at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
