LOS LUNAS — Los Lunas senior basketball player Hadley Beaty signed his national letter of intent last week to play for Cornell College in Iowa.
Beaty, a 6-foot-2-inch player, who played guard and forward for LLHS, was surrounded by his parents, friends and head coach Travis Julian during the signing.
Beaty played all four of his years at the varsity level and was a part of teams that went a combined 75-27 and won three-district championships along the way.
Beaty was named to the second team all-district following this past season on a Los Lunas team that finished 21-9 overall and won both the regular season and post season district championships.
One of Beaty’s bigger nights on the court during his senior season came against in-county rival Valencia when he scored 13 points in a 69-29 Los Lunas victory.
Beaty will graduate from Los Lunas High School in May, and currently holds a 4.2 g.p.a.
Cornell College is located in Mount Vernon, Iowa, 18 miles east of Cedar Rapids. The basketball team that Hadley will play for finished 19-9 this past season.
