LOS LUNAS — A Valencia County man is in critical condition at an Albuquerque hospital after being shot multiple times Sunday evening.
At about 8 p.m., Sunday, July 24, Los Lunas police officers were called out to a report of multiple shots fired on the south side of Valencia Plaza at 2351 Main St. NE.
LLPD Detective Nikki DeAnda said when officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds behind the shopping center near Albertsons Market and Dollar Tree.
After administering CPR to the victim, officers found a pulse and the man was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, as of Monday afternoon.
The detective said the department has alerted area law enforcement agencies with leads in the investigation, but has not publicly released the details so the suspect does not destroy evidence.
