Maria Alba Jaramillo (Saenz)

1941-2022

Maria Alba Jaramillo (Saenz)

Maria, who loved to be called “Nana” by her grandchildren, departed her loving family on June 20, 2022, in Lee, Maine.

Maria was born in Jarales on Dec. 26, 1941, to Adela and Ezequiel Jaramillo, of Jarales. Maria became an RN in Denver, Colo., in her early years and retired in health care field as well.

Maria Jaramillo was also known as “Piñon Lady.” She worked hard to raise her two children, James Jaramillo and Suzanne Lattig, and was very close to her niece, Bernice Werner. Maria always opened her home to many people in need throughout her life and made family along the way.

Maria loved her grandbabies even more. Cleo Velasquez, Dakota Lattig, Noah Lattig, Elijah Jaramillo, and Jacob Jaramillo were a huge part of her life.

Maria is also survived by her six sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. Maria enjoyed music, her detective movies, bingo, card games and board games. Maria also liked spending time outside watching dragonflies, hummingbirds and butterflies. Maria was well known for her witty sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

Services for Maria will be held on Thursday, July 14, at Our Lady of Belen Church beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary followed by a celebration of the Holy Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow services at the Moose Lodge in Los Chavez.
