LLMH&A Juried Art Show

The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts has announced its theme for its ninth annual Juried Art Show, “Miracles and Remedies,” which will be from Oct. 9 through Jan. 9, 2022. The show is open to artists 18 years and older, residing in the state. Artists may enter up to three works to be juried, and the fees are $20 per entry or $50 for three works. 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

The city of Belen will hold a 20th anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, at the 9/11 Memorial Park on the corner of Church Street and S. Main Street.

 

BHS Class of 1971 reunion

The Belen High School Class of 1971 will hold its 50th class reunion at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, with a dinner and dance at the Sheriff Posse Cafe (pay for dinner at door). There will also be a barbecue on Sunday, Sept. 12. Pass the word to fellow classmates. Local art show

An art show, “An Arts Journey — Then and Now,” featuring the art of Eddie L. Ramirez, will be held through Sept. 25 at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts. An artist reception will be held from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11. The museum, 251 Main St., Los Lunas, is open from 10a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.

NextEra Energy will host a virtual open house from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15. The open house is regarding the proposed Sky Ranch Energy Center project. Young Eagles Flight

EAA Chapter 530 will host a Young Eagles Flight on Saturday, Sept. 18, at Mid Valley Air Park. The goal of EAA Young Eagles Program is to introduce children, ages 8-17, to general aviation and aviation in general by giving them a free flight. Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Fiestas

Our Lady of Sorrows Fiestas will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, at the church in La Joya. The day will start with a Mass at 9 a.m., followed by music by Kevin Michael Band from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Sangre Joven from 2-6 p.m. The raffle will be held at 6 p.m. Other events include food booths, cake, pie and mechandise auction, cake walk, 50/50, and children and teen games. Rio Abajo Festival

The annual Rio Abajo Festival, hosted by the Greater Belen Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, on Becker Avenue in Belen. There will be a car show, food trucks, corn hole, dance contests, music, art, beer and wine and more.
