BFD 100th Anniversary Celebration

Join the Belen Fire Department in celebrating its 100th anniversary from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 19. There will be hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy and a bouncy house for the kids. The fire station is at 121 S. Fifth St.

 

Open house at RGEFD

An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for three new trucks will be held at the Rio Grande Estates Fire Department from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 19. There will be free food and drinks.

 

Open Trail and Health Day

The Meadow Lake Parks Area Association will hold an Open Trail and Health Day from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 19, at the MLPAA property at the end of Meadow Lake Road.

The park will be open to the general public. Ride your horse, walk your dog, bring your bicycle. They also have two park benches that need painting. The MLPAA June meeting will follow starting at 1 p.m. Call Jim Lane at 865-9786.

 

Youth Appreciation Day

The Rio Communities Optimist Club will host a Youth Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday June, 26, in the parking lot at city hall, 360 Rio Communities Blvd.

There will be fun activities for children, such as bean bag toss, jump rope, arts and crafts activities, rock painting, bird feeder and face painting. There will also be fresh popcorn, and make-your-own ice cream sundaes at the end of the day. The event is free.

 

Rainbow Art Walk in Belen

The Rainbow Art Walk will be held from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 26, in the Belen Arts District, located on Becker Avenue between First and Sixth streets.

This event is an open house of art studios in the district, including Gaze Gallery Pop-Up, Wolf Martinez Gallery Pop-Up, Through the Flower, The GRID Gallery, Belen Art League Gallery and Gifts, Solis Custom Design and Studio 508.

 

Opening reception

The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts is hosting the New Mexico Navy Exhibit curated by John Taylor.

His book, “The New Mexico Navy,” details ships, namesakes, images and histories. Taylor worked with the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts to honor these vessels, and the men and women who called them home. An opening reception will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 26, at the museum’s pavilion.

 

All American Celebration

The city of Belen will host its annual All American Celebration beginning at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 26, at Eagle Park. There will be food vendors, and live music from Suavecito at 4 p.m., Rhythm Divine at 5 p.m., Black Pearl Band at 6 p.m. and Kevin Michaels Band at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks show begins at dusk.

 

Fourth of July Celebration

The annual Los Lunas Fourth of July Celebration will be held beginning at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 4, at the Los Lunas Sports Complex, 1601 N.M. 314.

There will be food vendors, live music from Brandon Saiz begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at dusk. Tickets are available at loslunasnm.gov/759/Fourth-of-July-Celebration. There will not be a Fourth of July parade this year.

 

Vendors wanted for NNO

Los Lunas Police Department is hosting National Night Out from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3. This is a completely free event for the community. If you are interested in having a table set up, call 839-3855 or email [email protected] or [email protected]. The deadline is Friday, July 26.
