Francis C. Olmstead

1937-2020

Francis C. Olmstead, age 83, born in 1937 in Maxwell, N.M., passed away on Jan. 28, 2020, at his residence in Los Lunas.

Francis C. Olmstead

The world lost a great man today. He was born in Maxwell, N.M., to Francis C. Olmstead and Senaida Trujillo. Francis worked at a very young age on the Hughes Ranch in Maxwell, picking fruit and cleaning chicken coops to help provide for his family. He would bring in wood for the cooks and take the ashes out to pay for his school lunch.

Francis continued to work on the ranch and then at a service station in Maxwell until he graduated from Maxwell High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1963. Francis went to Highland University in Las Vegas, N.M., and later moved to Denver, Colo., where he worked at Colorado General Hospital in the storeroom.

He fell in love with Ruth Trambley (from Mora, N.M.), who took food requisitions to him. They married on July 10, 1963, and moved back to New Mexico and was self-employed his entire life.

Though he was a hard worker and always provided for his wife and five children, he was a simple man who was content with his life and proud of his achievements. Francis enjoyed watching the contrails in the sky and cranes fly over his property in Los Lunas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis C. Olmstead and Senaida Trujillo; children, Christopher and Mary Alice Olmstead; sisters, Rosie Meloro, Lucy Christensen and Virginia Cardenas; and brother, Paul Trujillo.

Francis is survived by his loving wife of 56 1/2 years, Ruth (Trambley) Olmstead; children, Lorraine Olmstead (Sisto Mascarenas), of Los Lunas, Mark Olmstead, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dr. Francine Olmstead (Tracey Bowen), of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Alyssa Padilla and William Bowen; brother, Rupert Trujillo; sisters, Madeline Kadas, Frances Madrid and Viola Cardenas.

Services will take place at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas on Friday, Jan. 31, beginning with a visitation from 9-9:30 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. and Interment following at Los Lentes Catholic Cemetery.

Jonathon Trujeque

1980-2020

Jonathon Trujeque

Fear is not something that defines us but drives us to take chances. Living life to the fullest. The thrill of living life on the edge and enjoying good friends with a few laughs and a cold brew then disappearing like the wind. Riding high on life on the back of a motorcycle. Free to live your life on your own terms.

Jonathon was a track supervisor for Belen Railroad for 10 years. He loved his green chile, especially when his mom made it for him. Jonathon owned a lot of toys, including a collection of 4-wheelers and dune buggies. He loved his Harley.

Jonathon was quiet but everyone knew when he wanted to be heard because he knew how to get your attention. Jonathon would have a friendly smile for friends and family when he saw you but would disappear before he had to say goodbye.

He burned the candle at both ends and left us too soon. Jonathon was never good at saying goodbye. Forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts. In the arms of our dear Lord, Jonathon moves on to his next adventure in Heaven.

He is preceded in death by his Tata and Nana, Juan and Louisa Marquez; auntie, Florinda Cordova; uncle, Rudy Marquez; auntie, Jean Ruof; auntie, Neva Brady; brother, Joshua Trujeque; grandparents, O.B. and Angelina Trujeque; and auntie, Bea Dutcher.

Jonathon leaves behind his dad and mom, Paul and Corine Trujeque; his brother, Jeremy Trujeque and his wife, Stephanie; his sister, Jaclyn Trujeque; and his sister, Jennifer Ramsell and her husband, Joshua. He is also survived by goddaughter and niece, Jenesis Trujeque; niece, Ellena; nephew, Jeremy Jr.; niece, Oralia; and nephew, Jeremiah; as well as many uncles, aunties, several cousins and many life-long friends he considered family.

All services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., 864-4448, where an online guest register is available at noblin.com.
