Marina Esther Padilla

On Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, Marina Padilla peacefully passed away at her home in Pasadena, Ca. She was 91 years old.

Marina was born in Albuquerque, to the late Frank and Emilia Tabet on Sept. 29, 1929. She was the oldest of four children.

In 1949 she married Wilfred Padilla Sr. Five years later they moved their family from Belen to Los Angeles, Ca. where she and Wilfred raised their children and were active at their parish church of St. Bernard’s.

She always enjoyed traveling and celebrating many events with her family. After Wilfred’s retirement, they ventured their travels out of the country.

Marina is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years – they were best friends.

She is also preceded by her brothers, Frank Tabet Jr. and Ray Tabet; and her sister, Rose Tabet-Romero.

Marina is survived by four children: Mary Margaret Lewis and her husband, David; Julie Louise Bossé and her husband, Jim; Wilfred C. Padilla Jr. and his wife, Laura; and Richard James Padilla and his wife, Jackie.

She is survived by nine grandchildren, Dallas and Duane Shewmaker; Christy Bossé; John, Jason, Andrew and Alyson Padilla; and Nicholas and Noah Padilla.

She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Marina will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Ca., on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021.
