The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts hosted a private online showing of “Rudolfo Anaya: The Magic of Words by David Ethan Ellis.” The film is in honor of Anaya and his life’s work as a writer. It can be viewed online throughout 2021.

“Rudolfo Anaya was an extraordinary storyteller and a shining example of being an inspiring New Mexican,” said Jan Micaletti, museum specialist of the village of Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts. “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to honor him.”

Anaya was known as one of the most renowned and groundbreaking Chicano authors. After moving to Santa Rosa with his family as a young boy, he found a love for the outdoors and heard stories from his elders that would later shape his novels such as “Bless Me, Ultima.”

The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts houses the history of Los Lunas, surrounding areas and the state of New Mexico. The museum is currently open at 25 percent due to COVID-19 restrictions.
