LOS LUNAS — The Rotary Club of Los Lunas has canceled its scheduled annual Pancakes for Kids fundraiser due to COVID-19.

As the global pandemic continues, the board made the decision to cancel this year’s fundraiser that had been scheduled for September and hosted by Ribs Hickory Pit BBQ. The annual fundraiser is used to raise monies for winter clothing for kids in need that are identified by the Los Lunas Schools.

“We still have a need to help the kids in our community so we will look at other options to fund this year’s clothing event.” said Club President, the Very Rev. Robert L. Mundy.

Clothes for Kids has been a mainstay of the Rotary Club of Los Lunas for many years and the club plans to conduct this event again this year in coordination with the Los Lunas Public Schools. The annual Pancake for Kids fundraiser is a relatively new club program initiated to expand the number of kids that can be given clothes.

“Our goal is to still serve the same number of kids as we have in the past,” Fr. Mundy said.

Information on the club is available online at rotaryloslunas.org. Rotary meets at noon each Tuesday at Ribs Restaurant in Los Lunas.
