BELEN–Kathleen Pickering, Belen Public Library director and community services administrator, and art educator Paula Castillo, are excited to announce the fourth show in a series of student art exhibits hosted by the Belen Public Library.

Small bird by Dakota Vega, Rio Grande Elementary sixth-grader.

Floppy-eared bird by Richard Martinez, Rio Grande Elementary fifth-grader.

This show will coincide with the 36th annual VFRS St. Patrick’s Day Hot Air Balloon Rallye, presented by the Valencia Flying & Retrieval Society and the city of Belen.

This show will exhibit work made by student artists at Rio Grande Elementary. The exhibit, “Things That Fly,” features delightful student drawings, collages and sculpture to tell the story of the wonderfully strange phenomenon of flight on planet Earth.

The opening for the show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,  Saturday, March 19, in the community room at the Belen Public Library. The exhibit will be up through April.
