1945-2022

Roy Paul Jaramillo

Roy Paul Jaramillo, age 76, a resident of Veguita, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loving family on June 17, 2022.

Born to Albert and Mary Jaramillo in San Fernandes, N.M., on June 26, 1945, he was the owner of Roy Jaramillo Welding and Fabricating, and was a devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and Belen Chamber of Commerce.

Roy loved boating, hunting, fishing, mentoring and was a teacher of life, business and family. He was a man of strength, humility, care and had a genuine love for his family. A life so wonderfully lived deserves to be so wonderfully remembered. We only pray to be half the person he was.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Albert T. and Mary G. Jaramillo; and brother, Clarence Jaramillo.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 1/2 years, Geraldine Jaramillo; brother, Rudy (Patsy); sister, Viola (Ernest); sister-in-law, Nora (Clarence); children, Paul (Eduardo), Sharlene Jaramillo-Roybal, Melinda Aragon (Santos), and Alberta; grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua (Zabrina) and Mikayla Roybal, Christian (Taylor), Joseph, Alexandria and Emily Aragon; great-grandchildren, Izryal Honeycutt and Ava Aragon; and many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to give special thanks to Presbyterian Socorro General Hospital, Presbyterian and AmberCare Hospice, and caregivers, Ashley Roybal, Patty Herrera, Eduardo Chavira, Derrick Manfree and Yolanda Zamora.

A public viewing and Rosary were held on Wednesday, June 22. A final viewing will be held at 9 a.m., Thursday, June 23, at San Juan Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Veguita Catholic Cemetery.
