Hard-working Santana has extended its time on the road once more this year. Having already played two legs for an “All Is One” outing earlier this year, including shows in both the U.S. and Europe, the legendary group will headed out on their Shaman tour on July 31.

They will make a stop at the Journal Pavilion on Tuesday, Oct. 1. This is a kid’s free show. All children 12 and under will be admitted free to the festival lawn with an adult ticket holder.

Santana is the primary exponent of Latin-tinged rock, particularly due to its combination of Latin percussion (congas, timbales, etc.) with bandleader Carlos Santana’s distinctive, high-pitched lead guitar playing. The group was the last major act to emerge from the psychedelic San Francisco music scene of the 1960s and it enjoyed massive success since then and always continues to attract large audiences for its concerts.

Tickets are priced at $58.50, 48.50 and $30.50 and are subject to convenience and handling fees. Tickets can be bought online through CC.com, charged by phone at 883-7800 or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The show is rain or shine.
