This fall, the Valencia County Partnership for a Work Ready Community presented a Student Career Video Challenge open to all Valencia County high school students ages 16 and older.

Nadia Vaquera was the grand champion.

In an effort to continue their work in helping to prepare youth for life after high school, students were asked to research a possible career they might like and then make a short video outlining aspects, such as skills and education needed, salary and job duties.

The VCP were thrilled with both the quality and quantity of submissions. All participants will receive a $25 award and, in addition, there were several judge’s choice awards, honorable mentions, top prizes and even a grand champion.

The VCP would like to congratulate all students who participated.

This challenge was sponsored by a grant from Facebook.

The grand champion was Nadia Vaquera from Valencia High School receiving $250.

Top prize winners were Dalli Cain from Belen High School, Faith Vicente from Los Lunas High School and Antigone Genson from Valencia High School, all receiving $200 each.

Judges Choice award winners were Eric Archuleta, Delsin Jaramillo, Diego Carillo, Ashonna Harris, Alexandria Tenorio and Vincent Otero all from Los Lunas High School, as well as Alexis Marques from VHS. All received $50.
