Therese Duran

1968-2023

Therese Duran

Therese Duran, age 54, of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 9, 2023, surrounded by her devoted family.

Therese was born on June 12, 1968, to John and Alice Gabaldon, in Belen.

She is preceded in death by Arturo and Lola Montano; and Jose and Cruz Gabaldon.

She is survived by her parents; brother, John; sister, Emily (Dean); brother, Michael (Trish); son, Jacob (Cassily); son, Donovan (Madison); as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends, who will greatly miss her.

A lifelong resident of Valencia County, Therese loved nothing more than to surround herself with those she loved. Like the flowers she so adored, her family made her heart bloom with joy and color.

Therese was an educated woman, who earned her master’s degree and went on to work in forensics as a private contractor. She enjoyed dabbling in fantasy football, traveling, immersing herself in the outdoor life, cheering on the Vikings, and snacking on popcorn. Her dog held a special place in her heart for more than 17 years.

Therese was an outgoing and happy soul, who’d light up a room with her infectious smile. Turn on some country, or some ’80’s rock, and she’d light up the dance floor, too! Her selfless, caring, friendly and tenacious personality will be missed greatly by those whose lives she’s touched.

A visitation for Therese took place on Jan. 11 at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, followed by a Mass at 10 am at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas.

Therese will then be laid to rest at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens immediately following the services.

John Michael will carry Therese to her resting place with the help of Cameron Duran. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Hicks, Nicholas Gabaldon, Chris Gabaldon, Joshua Gabaldon, and Dylan Gabaldon.

Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W. Reinken Ave., 505-864-4448, where an online guest register is available at noblin.com.
