Highlighting September action for the Women’s Golf Association was the Club Championship competiton for both nine-hole and 18-hole players. The nine-hole champion is Beth Taylor and the 18-hole winner is Berta Murzy. Congratulations to both ladies.
The last of the ace day competitions were played throughout the month, adding Cleo Wersonick, Fran Griffeth and Taylor to the upcoming Ace of Aces and Ultimate Ace compeitions.
First gross winners for both nine and 18 hole play days were Fran Griffeth, Anna Martinez, Tammie Fuller and Taylor, all with one. Murzyn and Edie Redfearn-Moore had three and Kathryn Bayless had two.
Birdies were scored by Marilyn Jaramillo and Fuller, with Murzyn scoring four.
In the chip-in category, Wersonick, Redfearn-Moore and Joanne Romero scored one each and Murzyn had two.

The Fall Frolics, which had to be canceled last year, will be played on Monday, Oct. 18. There are several out of town teams which have entered, as well as teams comprised of local membership.
Also in October, the Ace of Aces competition will culminate with the Ultimate Ace competition on Oct. 23.
Special congratulations go to the team of Cindy Hill, Jeannie Burleson, Murzyn and Redfearn-Moore for placing first gross in their flight at the Sierra del Rio Tournament at Elephant Butte. The team of Winters, Dorothy Lindberg, Jaramillo and Griffeth placed first net in their flight.
