The Women’s Golf Association Club Championships were played on Sept. 16, 23 and 24. Winner of the nine-hole division was Cindy Hill and the runner-up was Fran Griffeth.

In the 18-hole division, Edie Redfearn-Moore was the winner, with Lina Castillo placing second.

The meeting day scramble winning team was Janice Prescott, Beverly Turley and Joanne Romero.

Ace Day winner for 18-holers was Jeannie Burleson, with other winners for the month to be determined.

The play day on Sept. 30 featured a low putt contest. Burleson was the 18-hole category winner, and Griffeth won the 9-hole category.

Numerous players scored chip-ins throughout the month, lead by Kathy Burrow, Beth Taylor and Burleson with two each. Other chip-ins were scored by Redfearn-Moore, Turley and Tammie Fuller.

Birdies were scored by Fuller, Burrow and Marilyn Winters.

With the season winding down, the playoffs in the Ace Day competitions will be played on Oct. 10 and 14, with the winners competing in the Ultimate Ace competition on Oct. 24.

October typically features a big Fall Frolics Tournament which draws as many as 80 ladies from throughout the state.

Due to the pandemic situation, the ladies will host a members only, 2-person per team competition on Oct. 19.
