The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus received a Cumbre Gold award from the New Mexico chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NMPRSA).

The award was presented for the Community Education Service’s Fall 2001Schedule.

The schedule won in the Public Relations Tactics Special Topic Publication-non-profit category. It is the top award given in various categories of the group’s annual statewide competition.

The awards ceremony was held at Santa Ana Pubelo on June 28.

Present to receive the award were Chad Perry, public information officer; Rita Gallegos-Logan, manager of community education services; Eileen Davis, administrative assistant with community education; and Cheryl Pulaski, manager of donor relations, development and grants.

Only seven gold awards were presented in the tactics categories in this year’s competition. Public relations professionals of the Central Michigan chapter of PRSA judged the entries.

The schedule was printed by the Valencia County News-Bulletin.
