Valentin Sais

On Oct. 04, 2022, Valentin A. Sais, loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, passed away at the age of 76.

He was born in Casa Colorada to Pilar and Eva Sais. Valentin found passion helping his community as a plumber. He was lucky enough to meet the love of his life, at a dance and they spent 55 years together.

Valentin’s family started with his wife, Luby, and he enjoyed raising three daughters and two sons. Ultimately, his family grew more and so did his heart, as he was blessed with four grandchildren.

Valentin’s favorite thing to do was being outdoors in the Casa Colorada sun, cutting weeds, feeding his lambs and messing with something he shouldn’t have. It wasn’t until later in life he discovered shopping at Walmart. Valentin enjoyed shopping because it allowed him to visit with friends as he loved to do.

Valentin enjoyed keeping traditions alive, including yearly visits to the Fiestas of Belen and short road trips to surrounding areas. He enjoyed listening to the New Mexican music, radio programs on KARS Radio and KANW. Valentin’s favorite song was “Valentin De La Sierra.”

He always wanted to see a smile on faces, so he would load the truck up and take all the kids to the Tiendita for candy. Valentin will always be everyone’s favorite because he enjoyed the simple things in life and didn’t take it too seriously. He mostly enjoyed laughter.

Valentin was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Sais; parents, Pilar and Eva; and five siblings, Celsita, Primitivo, Virginia, Barney and Benjamin.

He is survived by his wife, Luby; sons: Richard (Vickie) Sais, and their daughter, Mikeila, Chris (Katie) Sais; daughters, Irene Crites and her daughter, Katielyn (favorite pet, Bella), and Valerie (Bobby) Montano, their two boys, Bobby John Jr. and Isaiah; two sisters, Mabel Miranda and Margaret (Abran) Garcia; cousin, Val (Priscilla) Sais Jr., and many cousins, nieces and nephews he cherished.

A special thank you to the Presbyterian Hospice Team No. 2, we appreciate your help and guidance.

A viewing and Rosary were on Wednesday, Oct. 12,  at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A final viewing will take place at 9 a.m.,  Thursday, Oct. 13, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Casa Colorada Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby John Montano Jr. and Isaiah Montano, Roseabeth Sais, Val Sais Jr., Leonard Saiz and Albert Miranda. Honorary pallbearers will be Katielyn Crites, Mikeila Sais, Leann Navarette and Trish Sais.

“Estas son las Manitas de un hombre valiente que fue Valentin.”
