Valerie Garcia
Valerie Garcia, age 78, a resident of Belen, and formerly of Torreon, N.M., went into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Dec. 14, 2022.
She was born on May 20, 1944, to Prudencio and Leonela Hurbina. Valerie was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
She had a great love for Jesus and her family. Valerie was an amazing momma (mother), second mother to a lot of people, grandma, sister, auntie and friend, whom will be greatly missed.
She is now with her son, Pat.
Valerie is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Garcia; life-long partner, Frank Sanchez; son, Pat Garcia; brothers, Macky Hurbina and Prudencio Hurbina; and brother-in-law, Frank Torrez.
She is survived by her loving children, Andrew Garcia (Louise), Julie Garcia (Yolanda), and Carla Morgan (Gary); loving sisters, Rosie Torres, Patsy Hurbina, Mercy Olguin (Florian) and Femia Hurbina (David); brother, Eddie Hurbina (Vicky); grandchildren, Branden, Matthew (Rebekkah), Vanessa, Dominic, Kyle, Patrick (Kristina), Diego, Bobby, Johnny Ray, Amber, Steven, Serenity and Michael; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Noah and Dawson; and daughter-in-law, Victoria Garcia Jaramillo.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Branden, Matthew, Patrick, Diego, Dominic, Steven and Johnny Ray. The honorary pallbearer was Kyle Garcia.
