The village of Los Lunas has launched phase two of its Small Business Grant Program, designed to help local businesses succeed and thrive through the COVID-19 global pandemic.
As a recipient of a CARES Act Grant in the amount of $335,475, the village is offering relief to businesses for future expenses through Dec. 30, 2020.
The second round of grant applications is open through Friday, Oct. 16. Additional information can be found on the village of Los Lunas website and Facebook page.
The village will award grants up to $5,000 to cover eligible future expenses that will be accrued before the end of the calendar year.
These include business continuity expenses, business redesign expenses and all expenses that fit into the following categories: non-owner employee payroll, rent, scheduled mortgage payments, insurance, utilities, marketing, reconfiguring physical space, installing plexiglass barriers, purchasing web-conferencing or other technology to facilitate work-at-home and PPE for employees.
Eligible businesses must be registered with the village, have 50 or fewer full-time equivalent employees (employed in New Mexico), be headquartered in New Mexico, have either been forced to close or had business operations severely curtailed due to the public health orders from the state and have an annual revenue of $2 million or less prior to the impact of COVID-19.
“This year, many local businesses have struggled through closures to ensure public health, and we are thankful to have the ability to help them continue to not only stay afloat during this difficult time, but also to grow and have a successful year,” said Ralph L. Mims, Village of Los Lunas Economic Development Manager. “Local businesses are the heart of our village, and we encourage all who are eligible to apply.”
