After a rocky start in March due to weather, the Women’s Golf Association was able to play regularly during April. However, the Partner’s Tournament scheduled for April 17 was cancelled because of rain and wind.

The first Ace Day competition resulted in a win for Berta Murzyn in the Saturday competition; a win for Lina Castillo in the 18-hole Wednesday competition; and a 9-hole win for Marilyn Winters. Berta Murzyn scored three birdies and one chip-in during the month. Sharon Welch and Cindy Hill each had one chip-in.

On May 8, the rescheduled Partner’s tournament will be played, and on May 15 and 22, the Eclectic Tournament will be played. Regular play days are scheduled on the remaining Wednesdays and on Saturdays.

Ladies who would like to join the WGA should call Edie Redfearn-Moore at 864-7015 or Kathy Burrow at 270-7048.
