Due to hot temperatures in June, the Tierra Del Sol Women’s Golf Association played more nine-hole play days than usual. The meeting day scramble on June 2 was won by the team of Edie Redfearn-Moore, Tammie Fuller and Marilyn Jaramillo.

The highlight of the month was the President’s Cup Tournament on June 16. Beth Taylor was the 18-hole winner and Fran Griffeth was the nine-hole winner.

Ace Day competitions were played on Wednesday, June 9, with honors going to Robin Boyd, the 18-hole winner, and Joanne Romero, the nine-hole winner. The Saturday ace competition on June 19 was won by Regina Trujillo in the 18-hole competition and Jaramillo in the nine-hole contest.

Chip-ins throughout the month were scored by Dorothy Lindberg, Jeannie Burleson, Jaramillo, Boyd and two by Trujillo. Scoring birdies were Jaramillo and Bayless with two.

Berta Murzyn took honors three times during the month for low gross 18-hole scores and Janice Prescott and Redfearn-Moore each won twice. Nine-hole low gross scores were recorded by Cleo Wersonick, Taylar Jaramillo, Jeannioe Burleson, Griffeth, Lindberg, Redfearn-Moore and Romero.

In the New Mexico Seniors Tournament played in Socorro, Lindberg placed second gross and Griffeth and Winters each scored first net in their respective flights.
Regular play days on all Wednesdays and most Saturdays are scheduled in July following the scramble played on July 7.

Ladies who would like to join the WGA should call Edie Redfearn-Moore, 864-7015 or Kathy Burrow, 270-7048.
