Bennie Sarte 

1935-2024 

Bennie Sarte, a resident, of Los Lunas, passed away on Jan. 3, 2024. 

Our beloved Bennie Sarte was born in Manzano, N.M., on March 9, 1935. She was a kindhearted, hardworking and loving individual. She was a home-maker and an amazing mother, who cooked for her children.  

She was known to always remember her loved one’s birthdates and made sure she called to sing “Happy Birthday.” Speaking of what she was known for, she always had her hair done and nails painted. She loved chile, especially when it was extra hot.  

When she entered eternal life, she passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Eliseo and Mariana Tafoya; husband, Jimmy Gallegos Sr.; son, Willie Gallegos; sisters, Agapita Tafoya, Virginia Anzures, Molly Tafoya and Emma Sedillo; and grandson, Jeremy Lopez. 

Bennie is survived by her son, Jimmy Gallegos and wife, Irene; daughter, Josephine Martha Sanchez and husband, Edward; daughter-in-law, Jackie Gallegos; grandchildren, Julian, Franny, Jennifer, Leroy, Esperanza, Nicole, Veronica and Edward Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers are Julian, Eddie, Jason, Joe, Just and Leroy. The honorary pallbearer is Ismael.
