Valencia High School softball player Neveah Bracamonte will continue her athletic career at Pima Community College in Arizona.
“It’s just a plus going back to Tucson, Ariz., because that’s where my entire family is from,” Bracamonte said.
She will also continue a family tradition of nursing.
“They have a really good (nursing) program.” On the diamond, “I’m a utility player and a right-handed pitcher, so anywhere they need me, I’ll be able to play.”
Mike Powers spent more than 40 years as a television news and sports anchor, mostly in the Albuquerque market. He has won numerous awards including New Mexico Sportscaster of the Year. He covers a wide range of sports, including the Valencia County prep scene.
