Barney and Sandi Carbajal, of Sabinal, N.M., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 4. The couple were married in 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Deming, N.M.

Barney is the senior pastor at Abundant Life Christian Center in Rio Communities. He graduated from Belen High School in 1968, and from New Mexico State University in 1973.

He is the state director for Christians United for Israel.

Sandi graduated from Deming High School in 1971, and they both enjoy spending time with their children and grandkids, and love to camp.

The Carbajals have pastored and led the congregation at Abundant Life Christian Center for 41 years.

Their children are Blayne and Leah Archuleta, of Hinton, Okla., Duke and Halona Carbajal, of Midland, Texas, and Joe and Anna Davison, of Midland, Texas.

They have nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A 50th wedding anniversary party will be given in their honor with family and friends. In the fall, they will be traveling to different states along the eastern part of the country to spend time together and see the beautiful countryside and the changes in the colors of the leaves. This is a trip they have both wanted for many years.

Their family has always been of the utmost importance to them. They adore their grandchildren, and now a great-grandchild, and love to spend as much time with them as possible.

Their faith in Jesus, and love for one another has been an example to everyone around them.
