Enedina M. Rael

Enedina M. Rael passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, at her home in Bosque Farms.  

Enedina was born Oct. 18, 1939, and grew up in La Loma, N.M., near Anton Chico.  

She is survived by her husband, Ramon Rael; three children, Everett Rael (Bonnie), Patrick Rael and Janna Rael Serna (Tommy); six grandchildren, Daniel and David Rael, Charity Rael, Brittani LaBouff, Diego and Jacob Rael; seven great-grandchildren, Bexley and Brooklyn Rael, Talon and Cadence Rael, Shaila and Aaliyah Carrillo, and Phoenix Jay LaBouff. She has one remaining sister, Gloria Montez, a half-brother, Antonio Mondragon; and many beloved hijadas, hijados, nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her son, Martin Jay Rael; her parents, Fidencia and Sam Gallegos; sisters, Francis Ballou and Juanita Aragon; brother, Ray Aguilar; nephew, Dan Aragon; and half-sister, Delfi Mondragon.  

She always made her family and extended family feel special and loved. Enedina married Ramon Rael in 1958. Together they opened Rael’s Grocery and Meat Market in Peralta. She later worked for the New Mexico Department of Human Services, where she retired from.  

Her hobbies included heirloom quilting and crocheting. She was an avid reader and talented seamstress. She was a good cook and you never left her home hungry.  

A service will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3674 N.M. 47, Peralta. A viewing is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by Rosary, and Mass at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow next door. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetary, 501 N Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, at 9:15 a.m., Friday, Sept. 22.
