Ida Bollinger-Harrell

Ida was born on Thursday, Sept. 12, 1935, in Clayton, N.M., in the home of Bertha Walker. She grew up on a small family ranch in Hayden, N.M.

She graduated from Clayton High School. She continued her education at ENMU, where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. After graduation, she began teaching in Clovis. She married Robert L. Bollinger in 1957.

After having two children, RL and Kathy, they were transferred from Canon AFB in Clovis to Marquette, Mich. Four years later, they moved back to Los Lunas.

She continued teaching in Los Lunas Schools until 1996, upon her retirement from full-time teaching. She continued substitute teaching until 2018.

She moved to Melrose, N.M., in 2007, where she lived until her passing.

Ida lived a long and full life. She enjoyed being around family and friends. She loved to go dancing and making puzzles.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her younger sister and younger brother.

Ida is survived by her younger brother, Doyle (Susan), of Konawa, Okla.; and her three children, RL and Kathy (Isidor) and Annie (Joe), of Los Lunas. She had eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 3/4 great-great grandchildren and two great-grand dogs.

A funeral service was held on Monday, Dec. 19, at FRENCH-University. Ida will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
