Leon Prevot Jr.

Leon Prevot Jr., age 60, resident of Belen, passed away on June 11, 2022.

He was born in Albuquerque on Dec. 23, 1961. Leon was the son of Felice and Leon Prevot Sr. He was a husband to Elsie of 29 years. Leon adored his children, Roman and Kaitlynn; and he was a brother to Sandra and Mark.

Leon graduated from Belen High School and earned his degree in biology from the University of New Mexico, as well as studied engineering, architecture and Native American art.

He was an active member of the Belen community, Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Leon was a co-owner and contractor for LeeMark Builders alongside his brother for many years until retiring to care for his mother. During this time, he attended city council meetings and did a tremendous amount of historical and biological research. He shared his knowledge through the internet and speaking out passionately about his findings.

Leon cherished his adobe home, growing his garden and taking care of his dogs. He is now set free from the suffering of life, he has been called home to his Creator, forever at peace, his unparalleled soul shall rest.

Services were held on Tuesday, June 21, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
