Los Lunas Police Lt. Lisa Valenzuela-Medina became the first female officer from the Los Lunas Police Department to graduate from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Police Academy, class #276.

Valenzuela-Medina successfully completed classes in leadership, labor law issues, communication, fitness and contemporary issues in law enforcement. She also completed several physical fitness challenges during her 10 weeks at the FBINA.

Valenzuela-Medina is currently the Los Lunas Police Department’s professional standards lieutenant. She has been with the LLPD for about eight years and continues to be an instrumental member of the department’s command staff.

In October 2018, Lt. Valenzuela-Medina received her Master of Science degree in leadership from Grand Canyon University.
