Music Walk

A Music Walk will be held from 2-6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, on Becker Avenue in Belen. Some of the entertainers will include Daniel Solis, Eddee G, Nathaniel Krantz, Tony Denardo, Sara Martinez, Jerry Dean, Mozzy Dee and Mose McCormack.

YDI after school program

YDI is recruiting youth ages 12-17 for weekly after school programs. The programs will be from 4:30-6 p.m., Wednesdays via Zoom, or 3:15-4:45 p.m., Thursdays, in person at the YDI office, 428 Los Lentes Rd. Sounding the Alarm

Fire departments throughout Valencia County are offering free home fire safety information and smoke alarm installations. Register to receive this free service from your local fire department. All fire stations in the county will also be holding open houses at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1.

 

LLMH&A Juried Show

The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts has announced its theme for its ninth annual Juried Art Show, “Miracles and Remedies,” which will be from Oct. 9 through Jan. 9, 2022. The show is open to artists 18 years and older, residing in the state. Artists may enter up to three works to be juried, and the fees are $20 per entry or $50 for three works. BHS Class of 1971 reunion

The Belen High School Class of 1971 will hold its 50th class reunion at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, with a dinner and dance at the Sheriff Posse Cafe (pay for dinner at door). Local art show

An art show, “An Arts Journey — Then and Now,” featuring the art of Eddie L. Ramirez, will be held from Aug. 28 through Sept. 25 at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts. An artist reception will be held from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11. The museum, 251 Main St., Los Lunas, is open from 10-5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.

 

St. Philip’s food pantry

Every Thursday, St. Philip’s Food Pantry, 113 La Luna Place, Rio Communities, is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Boxes of groceries and fresh produce can be picked for needy households. Let them know of any home-bound seniors or low-income families without transportation by calling 864-7954.
